apEX on Vitality’s Historic Win Streak: ‘This Happens Only Once in a Lifetime’

Team Vitality`s CS2 captain, Dan `apEX` Madesclaire, shared his thoughts after the team`s victory at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025. During an interview on the official broadcast, he discussed the grand final match and reflected on their impressive series of wins.

According to apEX, the team was slow to start on the first map, Inferno, and highlighted their struggles on the defensive side of Mirage.

Another five maps. I feel like I`m dying. We played so well and so poorly at the same time. I don`t know what the hell happened on defense on Mirage. We had a good plan, and then someone stopped following it. We started losing round after round, it was really terrible. On Inferno, we were still sleeping. On the other three maps, we played very well. And we won on Nuke again. It feels good.

Madesclaire acknowledged the rarity of their achievement, stating that he and his teammates understand such a prolonged winning streak is likely a singular event in their careers.

We still really want to win. We understand this happens only once in a career, once in a lifetime. After winning IEM Katowice 2025, I told the guys: `Let`s try to win as many tournaments as we can`. The next week, we had a week off. But we kept telling each other: `Just a few more days, guys, let`s keep giving our all`. And then another two days, then another one. And here we are, winning our fifth trophy in a row together. It`s unbelievable. I never thought I could do this.

BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 took place from April 30 to May 4, featuring teams competing for a $350k prize pool. In the grand final, Vitality defeated Team Falcons with a score of 3:2.
