Astini on Communication in PARIVISION: “I think our communication got worse when we switched from English to Russian”

Filipe “Astini” Astini, the coach for PARIVISION`s Dota 2 roster, expressed his belief that the team`s change to communicating in the Russian language has negatively impacted their in-game communication. He shared this perspective in a vlog recently published on the team`s official YouTube channel.

It [the transition to Russian] was a team decision, and Dukalis influenced it particularly. I feel that our communication deteriorated when we switched from English to Russian. Previously, we used English for about 70% of the time and Russian for roughly 30%, even when Remco [Crystallis] was part of the lineup. However, following Alan [Satanic]`s arrival, we moved entirely to Russian. As a result, we started speaking a lot of useless nonsense during the game.

Astini took on the coaching role for PARIVISION in May 2024. At that time, the team was representing the Entity club, and their roster primarily consisted of Russian-speaking players. The composition shifted when Remco “Crystallis” Arets joined after Alimzhan “Watson” Islamkekov moved to Gaimin Gladiators. The team became fully Russian-speaking again in January when PARIVISION leased Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov from Team Spirit.

Most recently, on April 27, PARIVISION finished as runner-up at PGL Wallachia Season 5, losing to Team Liquid in the grand final. For their second-place finish, Astini`s team secured $175,000 in prize money.
