Team Falcons offlaner Ammar “ATF” Assaf humorously announced that he has taken on the role of the team`s new drafter. During an interview conducted on the BLAST Slam III Dota 2 broadcast, he also revealed a list of witty rules he created for the roster, which included banning teammates from dying and losing their lanes.
Assaf specifically addressed the draft in their match against Team Spirit, explaining why they allowed Team Spirit to pick Nature`s Prophet.
“Obviously, I am now the new genius drafter of our team,” he stated. “I gave the opponents a hero [Nature`s Prophet] who accumulates 30k total net worth by the 35th minute. Yes, he doesn`t look like a balanced character, but what can you do? I out-drafted them. … Nature`s Prophet isn`t really that broken anyway.”
According to ATF, he now possesses the sole authority over Team Falcons` hero selections.
Presenting his handwritten list (and commenting on the quality of his handwriting), he read out the “Team Falcons` Tournament Objectives (What Must Happen)”. The key directives included:
“We must win lanes, because that`s how you win matches.”
“Can`t die – just don`t die, this shouldn`t happen.”
“No microphone problems. That happens often with us.”
“I, as the drafter, choose all characters. Players have no power in this matter. I will ask for their opinion, but if I don`t like it, I will just pick the hero I want myself.”
Finally: “I will first-pick Bristleback until the day I die.” (He clarified this meant “in real life”). He added that this particular rule wasn`t followed in the match against Spirit because the hero was banned, implying “They fear me.”
Team Falcons finished the group stage of BLAST Slam III in first place in Group A, securing a direct entry into the semifinals of the tournament.
