BAFTA Names Most Influential Games of All Time

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has unveiled a list of video games considered to have had the most significant impact on the gaming industry. This compilation has been published on the official BAFTA website.

The final selection comprises 21 games. The top five most influential titles are games released before the year 2000, including Shenmue, Doom, Super Mario Bros., Half-Life, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The list also acknowledges more contemporary releases, such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Baldur`s Gate III.

BAFTA prepared this material leading up to the 21st BAFTA Games Awards ceremony in April. It is mentioned that the list was created based on a survey, though the specifics of who participated in the survey and the number of respondents remain undisclosed.
