Information discovered by data miners suggests that the upcoming Battlefield 6 could introduce a paid subscription model, offering server hosting for the Portal game mode.
Electronic Arts is reportedly exploring the implementation of a premium subscription for the new Battlefield title. Hints of this feature were found within the game files of a test build by data miners.
The subscription, possibly named Battlefield Pro, is expected to grant access to the battle pass along with exclusive content, experience boosts for faster battle pass progression, 20 tier skips, six unique cosmetic items, access to seasonal reward challenges, and the ability to operate personal servers in Portal mode.
EA has been working on the latest installment in the Battlefield series for several years, aiming to “reinvent” the franchise. The company anticipates releasing the game before the end of March 2026. Testing of the shooter is underway as part of the Battlefield Labs program. Previous data mining efforts have also revealed mentions of a free-to-play battle royale mode within the game files.
