Boxi Discusses Team Liquid’s PGL Wallachia S4 Victory and Fatigue Management

Team Liquid support player Samuel “Boxi” Svahn shared his thoughts on the team`s performance and victory at the PGL Wallachia Season 4 Dota 2 tournament during a post-match interview on the official English broadcast.

Boxi expressed his satisfaction with winning PGL Wallachia again, noting a sense of “déjà vu” from a previous victory approximately three weeks prior. He recalled thinking last time that their main rivals, PARIVISION, were absent. This time, they faced PARIVISION in the grand final and won, which felt great, especially after a streak of around ten consecutive losses against them dating back to ESL One Bangkok 2024.

Svahn also elaborated on how the team managed to overcome fatigue caused by the high volume of games on the final day.

He explained that reaching the grand final from the lower bracket is always challenging because it requires waking up early and playing many maps. The first series is already quite exhausting, with very little time for rest before the final. However, the team is accustomed to this demanding schedule. They rely on caffeine and maintaining a positive team attitude to push through.

Boxi admitted that by the fourth game, they felt depleted, but they managed to regroup and make critical plays in the decisive fifth game. He recalled a moment around the seven-minute mark in the final game where they told themselves, “Okay guys, we`re not crushed yet.”

The final day of PGL Wallachia Season 4 took place on April 27th. In their first match, Team Liquid defeated Tundra Esports with a score of 2:0. Following that, they faced PARIVISION in the grand final and emerged victorious with a 3:2 scoreline.
