Singers Rita Ora and Brandy Norwood are set to reprise their roles in the fifth installment of the `Descendants` fairy-tale series.
Both performers will return from the previous fourth film. Ora will play the Queen of Hearts, and Norwood will portray Cinderella. Norwood originally played Cinderella in the 1997 movie `Cinderella` and returned as an adult version of the character in the `Descendants` series.
The `Descendants` saga takes place in a world where all Disney fairy tales are connected. Twenty years after the forces of good triumphed over evil and established a new kingdom, the descendants of villains are granted amnesty and allowed to leave their island prison. The first three films focused on the adventures of the children of villains like Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella De Vil, and the Evil Queen. The fifth installment will center on the daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella, with the storyline revolving around Wonderland.
The `Descendants` series premiered in 2015. It has received generally positive ratings from audiences. The release of the fifth film is currently scheduled for 2026.
