Counter-Strike Co-Creator Backs Developers of Banned Fan Mod

Minh “Gooseman” Le, one of the original creators of Counter-Strike, has commented on Valve`s recent ban of the fan-made “Classic Offensive” mod for CS:GO, which aimed to replicate the gameplay of version 1.6. Gooseman shared his thoughts on Valve`s decision via his personal X (formerly Twitter) page.

I can`t imagine years of your work not seeing the light of day. My condolences to the Classic Offensive developers on this sad news. I hope to see them in other projects, as I was truly impressed by what they achieved.

[Responding to a fan suggestion: `Only you can do this. Call Gabe and tell him too many people are unhappy with CS2`.] Gabe now lives on a submarine… You can only contact him through dolphins…

Earlier, Valve had revoked permission for the Classic Offensive project. The creators of the mod received a letter from Valve, demanding they take down the addon and cease further development, citing infringement of intellectual property rights.
