Esports player Danil `Dendi` Ishutin has lauded Deadlock, describing it as a very impressive game and contemplating its prospects in the esports scene.
According to Dendi, “Deadlock is a very cool game. It’s one of the best shooters out there. It`s fun and enjoyable, but also very challenging. There`s a lot to learn; even the artifacts require dedicated study. It`s quite difficult to get into and start being effective.”
He further elaborated, “Once you get the hang of it, it becomes really enjoyable. However, it demands significant practice and time investment. Will Deadlock succeed in esports? There are already some online tournaments happening. I believe it`s quite complex for viewers. Counter-Strike is very viewer-friendly; you watch and understand everything. Deadlock, on the other hand, is complete chaos, making it hard for spectators to follow. If Valve can address this aspect, the game has a strong chance in esports. Otherwise, it will be challenging for them. What needs to change? I`m not sure. Currently, the game features 6v6 battles. How do you effectively present that? It`s utter chaos.”
As of now, Deadlock is in its testing phase. Over 280,000 users have access, obtainable through invites from existing testers. The official release date for the shooter is yet to be announced.
