Disney Announces Seventh Global Theme Park in Abu Dhabi

The Walt Disney Company has officially revealed plans for its first theme park location in the Middle East. This significant project is scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and will be situated on the artificial Yas Island.

Yas Island is already a prominent destination for entertainment, housing major attractions such as Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, alongside other leisure facilities including SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, and Yas Mall. The development and construction of the new Disney theme park will be overseen by the local development company Miral, recognized for its expertise in managing large-scale projects within the UAE.

Walt Disney will take the lead in designing the park`s concept and layout, ensuring the preservation of the unique “Disney spirit” and magical guest experience. The company is set to receive royalties from the Abu Dhabi park`s operations. While maintaining its core identity, the park is expected to thoughtfully incorporate elements that reflect the rich cultural heritage and distinct character of the Middle East. This upcoming addition will become the seventh themed Disney park worldwide.
