A Dota 2 enthusiast has created graphs comparing Daedalus and Revenant`s Brooch in the 7.38b update to determine which item is more effective. The user shared their calculations on Reddit.
Initially, the graphs suggested Daedalus was superior in most situations, except against very high armor and low magic resistance. However, other players pointed out that the initial calculations did not account for the difference in item costs.
After revising the calculations to include item cost, Revenant`s Brooch emerged as a more gold-efficient damage option in almost all scenarios, excluding extreme cases. The author concluded that Daedalus is still the better choice for extended games due to its higher raw damage output. Conversely, Revenant`s Brooch is more suitable for capitalizing on an advantage and ending the game quickly. The graphs indicate that Revenant`s Brooch provides a more effective damage increase for your gold in most situations.
In patch 7.38, developers significantly reworked Revenant`s Brooch. It is now built from Crystalys, Voodoo Mask, and a recipe, costing 3,300 gold in total. The item now grants 35 damage and 16% lifesteal, along with the Phantom Critical passive. This passive gives each attack a 30% chance to deal bonus magical damage equal to 80% of the initial attack damage. This magical damage is considered critical but does not affect buildings.
