The upcoming EA Sports F1 25 racing game promises to deliver a highly refined and realistic Formula 1 experience, catering to hardcore fans. Developers at Codemasters in Birmingham shared details about new features and improvements in F1 25.

My Team Mode Overhaul

The biggest changes are focused on My Team mode, the game`s team management feature. Previously, players could both drive and manage the team, often choosing to race as themselves. Now, players will solely be the team owner. This requires a greater focus on strategic resource allocation for two managed drivers. Players will still control a driver during races, utilizing skills developed through training and simulations.

Creative director Gavin Cooper explained, “Being an owner-driver isn`t realistic in modern F1. Real teams don`t operate this way.”

F1 24 players will remember accolades from Driver Career mode. These achievements are now integrated into My Team, influencing Fan Rating and evolving into Team vs. Team Rivalries. The game now features a more detailed system for how these ratings impact team perception, adding complexity to overall team management.

Team HQ and Management Depth

Another layer of depth is the new Team HQ. Players must balance upgrade costs with on-track driver performance and budget limits. Rapid upgrades can lead to expensive workforce maintenance. Team HQ upgrades are now more detailed, unlocking driver skills and bonuses. Decisions on driver prioritization will affect team perception and driver contract negotiations.

Overall, F1 25`s management aspects are more detailed and varied, providing hardcore F1 fans with greater control. The on-track racing experience has also been refined and improved.

Senior creative director Lee Mather stated, “We`ve made significant progress based on feedback from F1 24 and lessons from F1 23, including community input and insights from esports drivers and a creative council. This year`s game offers improved car balance, particularly between low-speed mechanical grip and high-speed aerodynamic balance, enhancing the racing experience.”
