Many early adopters of the Apple Vision Pro headset are reportedly voicing significant disappointment, feeling that the hefty $3,500 price tag was not justified as the device has failed to meet their expectations.
Among the primary complaints, users highlight a scarcity of compelling content specifically designed for the headset, along with its considerable weight and physical dimensions. According to one owner, it`s difficult to comfortably wear the Vision Pro for more than 20-30 minutes before experiencing significant neck strain. Furthermore, extended use without being tethered or frequently recharged is impractical due to the relatively short battery life.
The Apple Vision Pro also appears ill-suited for use as a portable multimedia device. One user shared a poor experience attempting to use the headset during an airplane flight, again citing comfort issues. Additionally, the device and its carrying case proved quite bulky, reportedly occupying a substantial portion of their carry-on luggage space.
The Apple Vision Pro, which Apple describes as a spatial computing headset, officially launched on February 2, 2024. The device reportedly did not ignite widespread market excitement, with sales figures in the US estimated at under 100,000 units. Adding to the lukewarm reception, media reports emerged in early 2025 suggesting that Apple may have ceased production of the current Vision Pro model, with plans only to sell off existing inventory.
