Edgar Wright’s The Running Man Remake Trailer Released

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming action film “The Running Man.”

This new adaptation is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by American writer Stephen King, originally published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. The story is set in a dystopian 2025 where the global economy has collapsed and the United States has transformed into a totalitarian state. To escape crushing poverty, the protagonist volunteers for a brutal televised game show called “The Running Man.” In the show, he is declared an enemy of the state and must survive being hunted by a team of professional assassins.

The novel was previously adapted into a film in 1987, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role. For this new adaptation, Glen Powell takes on the protagonist, with the film directed by Edgar Wright. The remake is currently scheduled for release on November 7, 2025.
