F1 25 Driver Ratings Revealed: Verstappen Tops the List

EA Sports has unveiled the official driver ratings for the upcoming F1 25 video game. While some of the rankings are expected to ignite considerable debate among fans, the decision to award the highest overall rating to four-time world champion Max Verstappen, who starts the game with a 95 OVR, seems largely uncontested.

Each driver`s overall (OVR) rating is composed of four key secondary statistics: Experience, Racecraft, Awareness, and Pace. The Red Bull driver`s specific breakdown includes 87 for Experience, 96 for Racecraft, 85 for Awareness, and 96 for Pace. The inclusion of Experience as a distinct and influential statistic is particularly notable, as it helps explain why promising young and rookie drivers might appear to have lower ratings than expected.

This emphasis on the Experience stat appears to impact drivers like Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Bearman, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto. Despite potentially strong real-world performance in their rookie years, their lower Experience scores limit their overall ratings. Interestingly, Oscar Piastri, who is currently leading the real-world championship standings, also has a relatively low OVR of just 87, placing him below more seasoned competitors such as Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton due to this rating structure.

Below is the complete list of F1 25 driver ratings as revealed by EA Sports:

  • Max Verstappen (95 OVR)
  • Lando Norris (91 OVR)
  • Charles Leclerc (91 OVR)
  • George Russell (90 OVR)
  • Carlos Sainz (90 OVR)
  • Lewis Hamilton (89 OVR)
  • Fernando Alonso (88 OVR)
  • Oscar Piastri (87 OVR)
  • Pierre Gasly (86 OVR)
  • Esteban Ocon (85 OVR)
  • Nico Hülkenberg (84 OVR)
  • Alexander Albon (83 OVR)
  • Yuki Tsunoda (82 OVR)
  • Liam Lawson (80 OVR)
  • Lance Stroll (78 OVR)
  • Oliver Bearman (74 OVR)
  • Gabriel Bortoleto (74 OVR)
  • Jack Doohan (73 OVR)
  • Andrea Kimi Antonelli (72 OVR)
  • Isack Hadjar (68 OVR)

There has been no official announcement regarding how EA Sports will handle recent driver changes, specifically Franco Colapinto replacing Jack Doohan at Alpine. Similarly, it remains uncertain whether the game will depict Liam Lawson starting the season in the Red Bull seat or if Yuki Tsunoda will occupy that position from the outset.

EA Sports has stated that they plan to update the driver ratings periodically throughout the Formula 1 season. Therefore, it is anticipated that some of the initial ratings, particularly those that might be considered contentious, could be adjusted relatively soon after the game`s launch based on real-world performance.
