Team Falcons management has expressed their discontent with a social media publication by the tournament operator BLAST concerning their CS2 roster. According to Grant Russo, Falcons` esports director, the post in question misrepresents the team`s coach and players, leading to an official complaint being filed with the competition organizers.
The issue for Team Falcons arose from a post on X, where BLAST shared a clip showing a segment of the team`s in-game communication during a tactical timeout in their match against Virtus.pro. The video features Falcons coach zonic addressing the team but pausing mid-sentence. Subsequently, degster questions the coach with “What?”, and NiKo urges him to say something. This excerpt was also featured on the official broadcast during an intermission.
Grant Russo stated, “We have submitted an official complaint to BLAST Premier regarding their social media post (and its inclusion in the tournament broadcast). It deliberately omits context by not showing the entire timeout — which they can`t do as tactical elements were discussed towards the end — for the sake of a provocative post and to create a misleading impression of the coach and players. The reaction from other CS coaches to this tweet is telling.”
Following the publication of the clip, esports figures mithR and TaZ voiced their opinions. Both agreed that sharing such a video was inappropriate.
Team Falcons and Virtus.pro competed in the lower bracket semi-final of Group A. The team from Eastern Europe won the series with a 2:1 score (Mirage 11:13, Ancient 19:16, and Inferno 22:20). Team Falcons was eliminated from the tournament, finishing in 9th-12th place.
