A dedicated team of enthusiasts has taken on the task of transporting Valve`s upcoming shooter, Deadlock, back to its initial concept phase when it was known under the codename Neon Prime. These fans have recently released a trailer on YouTube showcasing their ambitious global modification.
This extensive mod, dubbed `Primelock`, significantly alters the game`s style and feel. It brings back the previously cut map `caldera_trooper`, available in three distinct time-of-day variations. The modding team has also redesigned the user interface, introduced a two-lane game mode, and fine-tuned balance parameters. Primelock boasts a hero roster exceeding 30 characters, including adapted versions of current Deadlock heroes in the Neon Prime style, alongside custom characters based on various stages of the game`s development. The mod is planned to support online multiplayer, feature custom animations, and allow for server hosting. While an exact launch date hasn`t been revealed yet, the creators have indicated that the release of Primelock is scheduled for the near future.
The existence of a team-based shooter under the name Neon Prime first came to light in 2022 when Valve registered the trademark. However, the game underwent a name change to Deadlock before its alpha version release and received several notable adjustments, particularly affecting its overall style and core gameplay mechanics.
