FISSURE Announces Fifth Universe Series Dota 2 Tournament

Tournament organizer FISSURE has revealed the dates for its next Dota 2 championship. FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, which boasts a $250,000 prize pool, is scheduled to run from June 30 to July 3. However, the initial Play-In stage will commence earlier, on May 12.

The preliminary Play-In phase, taking place from May 12 to May 18, will feature ten invited teams. Participants will first compete in two groups following a round-robin format with best-of-2 matches. Six teams will then advance to a double-elimination playoff bracket: four will begin in the upper bracket, while the remaining two will start in the lower bracket. Playoff series will be best-of-3, with the exception of the lower bracket final, which will be a best-of-5 match.

In the main stage, the two winners from the Play-In will join eight teams who receive direct invitations. These ten competitors will be split into two groups for another best-of-2 round-robin phase. For the main stage playoffs, only the two group winners will secure spots in the upper bracket. Teams finishing second and third in their groups will be placed in the lower bracket, while all other teams will be eliminated from the competition.

The specific teams expected to participate in both the Play-In and the main stage of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 have not yet been announced by the organizers.
