Konstantin Tyukavin, a forward for Moscow football club Dynamo and the Russian national team, recently discussed his views on Counter-Strike 2. Speaking on Fedor Smolov`s Smol Talk podcast, the 23-year-old explained the specific situations in which he would consider playing the popular Valve shooter.
Smolov: What`s going on with CS these days?
Tyukavin: I quit.
Smolov: Really?
Tyukavin: Well, not exactly quit. I never really loved playing it. We only played during training camps in Turkey, mainly because you were always playing, and we would all join in.
Smolov: Kupets also played.
Tyukavin: Yes, Kupets.
Smolov: Kupets still plays, right?
Tyukavin: Kupets plays. He probably has his own VIP status in INVASION Universe now. They`re really into it. It`s not particularly interesting to me. No, sometimes I`ll play just to pass the time or something.
Smolov: So it`s more about spending time with the team? You wouldn`t play alone?
Tyukavin: Definitely not alone. I bought a laptop back when we were playing. I had headphones and all that, but I haven`t played at all in a really long time now. Probably haven`t played since then.
Smolov: And you don`t feel like it?
Tyukavin: Not at all.
Smolov: And, let`s say, if you were going to play in the evening, could Alyona say something like, `Hey, I`ve been with Tiona all day, maybe you could spend some time with her?`
Tyukavin: Of course, she could. But it`s not because of that. I just personally don`t feel like playing CS or a console.
Smolov: And do you watch it, like, is the CS Major happening now?
Tyukavin: No, no, no.
Smolov: So watching is even worse than playing?
Tyukavin: I honestly don`t understand how you guys watch it. I just don`t get what`s interesting to watch there? How to throw a flashbang? You already know all that.
Smolov: Well, for the shooting, how the team plays. They still come up with new strategies, boost spots. Maps change periodically.
Tyukavin: Yeah, well, I`m pretty much completely out of it. I might go play for company, I definitely wouldn`t be the worst player… I can shoot a bit.
It`s worth noting that interest in CS2 isn`t limited to just Russian footballers. The Valve shooter is also a known hobby of Brazilian forwards like Neymar and Gabriel Jesus. Furthermore, some famous athletes are reported to have an interest in Dota 2.
