The Italian independent game developer 3DClouds has released the initial playable demo for their forthcoming racing title, Formula Legends. This game is currently being developed for multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with plans for a full launch later in 2025.
Formula Legends aims to provide a straightforward racing experience that pays tribute to the heritage of Formula 1. Players will have the opportunity to compete in cars from different eras, showcasing designs distinctly unlike modern F1 vehicles.
Since the independent studio does not hold official licenses, players will not find real drivers like Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton, nor will they race in officially branded cars from teams such as Ferrari or McLaren. Similarly, circuits won`t bear their real names like Spa-Francorchamps or Silverstone, though a track named `Ardennes GP` may resemble a famous Belgian circuit.
Although designed to be an arcade-style racer, Formula Legends incorporates realistic aspects such as tire wear, fuel use, vehicle damage, dynamic weather, and track grip evolution. This means players seeking a more detailed simulation experience that captures the feeling of being a professional driver will also find features to enjoy.
The demo allows players to race cars and teams drawing inspiration from the mid-1970s, early 1990s, and contemporary Formula 1 eras, competing online on the Ardennes GP circuit. Francesco Bruschi, CEO of 3DClouds, encouraged all racing game fans, whether casual or dedicated, to provide sincere feedback.
The Formula Legends demo is available for free on PC through Steam as part of the current Next Fest event.
