Fortnite Adjusts AI Darth Vader Behavior Due to Offensive Lines

An issue recently emerged in Fortnite concerning the AI version of Darth Vader, which unexpectedly began using offensive language towards players. This malfunction affected an experimental character voice system built into the game for interactive communication.

The AI character, based on the Star Wars figure Darth Vader, was designed to utter pre-scripted phrases. However, a glitch caused it to generate lines containing profanity and even inappropriate statements. According to Epic Games representatives, this was the result of an “unforeseen error” related to the training of the voice AI.

Developers promptly released an update to limit the AI Vader`s potentially offensive lines. Now, users under the age of 13 require parental permission to activate the voice AI. While audio data is transmitted to Google servers, text transcripts of conversations are not saved.
