SEGA, the Japanese publisher, has unveiled SEGA Football Club Champions 2025. This upcoming title is a free-to-play football management simulation. It is scheduled for release in 2025 across multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. The game will include key modes like Career Mode and Dream Team Mode.
Players can engage in Career Mode to manage their club both on and off the field against AI opponents. Dream Team Mode offers a competitive player-versus-player experience, allowing managers to test their strategic abilities against others with diverse rules and rewards.
While FCC 2025 might not boast the extensive licensing of games like EA Sports FC 25, it will still feature approximately 10,000 real-world football players. SEGA has confirmed licenses for around 1,500 players from leagues and organizations including J League, K League, FIFPRO, and Manchester City. The presence of players like Erling Haaland on the cover suggests a focus on these licensed teams/players.
A closed beta test will be available for selected fans prior to the official launch. As the game is free-to-play, accessing it after release will be very easy.
FCC 2025 is expected to be SEGA`s primary football management title in 2025, especially given that Sports Interactive`s Football Manager 25 was cancelled earlier in the year following multiple delays. While it might not offer the same depth as the established Football Manager series, FCC 2025 could serve as a welcome alternative and keep fans engaged until the next Football Manager installment is released.
