Former professional Dota 2 player Gleb `Funn1k` Lipatnikov has revealed his intention to form a controversial guild. The purpose of this group will be for its members to intentionally disrupt or “ruin” matches when they happen to be matched in the same game as certain specific professional players.
Lipatnikov detailed his concept on social media, also publishing a list of his intended targets. He explained that his idea was inspired by a similar group he learned about:
In Peru, there`s a guild in Dota called `Guild for sniping [certain players]`. Accordingly, as soon as one of them gets matched with [a target], he is obliged to ruin his game. Pick Furion and do what needs to be done. Therefore, Ilyushenka [ALOHADANCE], get ready. I will contact the guys soon. It will be very fun for you on your main account.
It seems to me that our region also lacks such a guild. I will create my `Water Totem Guild`. It will look for those who dislike [the targets]. There will be 50 of us. For every correct move [successful ruin], you will get something: did it, sent proof – we laughed, and I sent you something cool. Everyone get ready.
Funn1k shared the list of targeted players as a photograph of a handwritten note. The list reportedly includes names like Dendi, ALOHADANCE, and Nightfall, with some names possibly altered or given nicknames.
Under Funn1k`s plan, members will earn points for successfully ruining games when matched with players from the target list and providing proof. These accumulated points can then be exchanged for merchandise such as Natus Vincere and B8 Esports shirts, as well as a promised surprise.
This announcement follows recent public tension between Funn1k and Dendi, including a demand for debt repayment coupled with a threat, and a public video where Lipatnikov demonstratively wiped his feet on a B8 Esports (Dendi`s team) shirt.
