Rockstar Games will not announce the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI in advance. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated in an interview with Bloomberg Television that the company plans to reveal the date closer to the game`s launch, coinciding with the start of the marketing campaign.
When asked about the secrecy surrounding the GTA VI release date, Zelnick explained that this approach is intended to build anticipation and hype, which ultimately benefits the game`s release and sustains audience interest. Unlike some studios that announce release dates years in advance, Take-Two prefers to initiate marketing efforts and reveal the date closer to the actual launch.
Currently, the exact release date for Grand Theft Auto VI remains undisclosed. The game is expected to launch in Fall 2025 and will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Previous rumors suggested that Rockstar might delay the release to early 2026.
