Team Spirit`s Counter-Strike 2 coach, Sergey `hally` Shavaev, discussed the strategic importance of teams occasionally skipping tournaments. He shared his thoughts on the matter.
We are drawing on last year`s experience, when we skipped IEM Rio. We faced criticism from the community for that, but ultimately, it proved to be the right call as we went on to reach the BLAST Premier: World Final, win the major, and BLAST Bounty. This kind of break allows players to have some time to themselves, as they spend so much time together throughout the season. Furthermore, it gives us time to stabilize our gameplay.
Additionally, the Team Spirit coach addressed a question regarding potential roster changes, particularly in the context of competing with teams like Team Vitality and MOUZ. According to Shavaev, the organization is not currently considering any roster adjustments.
Right now, we aren`t considering making any changes at all. When we put this roster together a year and a half ago, our simple goal was just to make the playoffs. Since then, we`ve managed to win four titles. We`ve definitely performed beyond our initial expectations. This part of the season is clearly crucial. We`ll evaluate our results before and after the upcoming major, but as of now, roster changes are not on our minds.
Team Spirit`s next scheduled tournament is BLAST Rivals Spring 2025. The event is set to take place from April 30 to May 4 in Copenhagen, Denmark, where eight teams will compete for a $350,000 prize pool.
