Jade Raymond, the head of Haven Studios, has reportedly stepped down from the team developing the multiplayer shooter Fairgames. This information comes from Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation. While the specific reason for her departure was not publicly disclosed, the publication noted that the studio conducted an external playtest for Fairgames just weeks earlier, and some team members were reportedly concerned by the outcomes.
Tracing her career path, Raymond left Ubisoft in 2015 to establish Motive Studios under Electronic Arts. Three years later, she joined Google to oversee game development for Stadia, but subsequently left in 2021 following Google`s closure of its internal game studios. In the same year, she co-founded Haven Studios alongside five partners and twenty former Google colleagues. PlayStation provided funding for Haven`s debut project, and Sony proceeded to acquire the studio in 2022.
Representatives from PlayStation expressed their gratitude to Raymond for her role in founding the studio and extended best wishes for her future endeavors. They also confirmed that the development of Fairgames is ongoing. Leadership of Haven Studios will now be taken over by Marie-Ève Danis and Pierre-François Sapinski.
