Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed its commitment to ongoing support for the cooperative shooter Helldivers 2. Studio CEO Shams Jorjani stated that Helldivers 2 is the team`s primary focus. He added that development will continue as long as players are engaged and purchasing premium currency.
Jorjani also mentioned that Helldivers 2`s success has given the studio creative freedom to pursue ambitious concepts. However, he stressed that their next project, referred to internally as `Game 6`, is being developed by a small team and is still in its early phases. The majority of the studio`s resources are dedicated to supporting their current hit. He clarified that Game 6 will be self-funded by Arrowhead, ensuring full development control, including decisions regarding regional availability.
The Arrowhead CEO acknowledged that the studio faced challenges in the summer of 2023 but successfully `turned the ship around` to get back on track. The team is currently focused on releasing new content, including premium Warbonds, and plans to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.
