HLTV.org Head: Team Spirit Offered kyousuke a Spot in the Main Roster

Zvonimir “Professeur” Burazin, the head of HLTV.org, shared that Maxim “kyousuke” Lukin turned down a position on Team Spirit`s main CS2 roster. Speaking on the HLTV Confirmed podcast, he explained that the player decided to join Team Falcons instead, motivated by the opportunity to play alongside Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.

Rumors circulated that Team Spirit wasn`t planning to keep kyousuke, but according to recent discussions, the club actually wanted to promote him to the main roster. However, he declined and chose to move to Falcons. [SPUNJ: `He`ll earn more at Falcons`]. Yes, but from what I heard, it was about the chance to play with NiKo and m0NESY. I don`t know all the details, but my understanding is that kyousuke was confident that the transfer to Falcons was the better decision – better than staying at Spirit.

Team Falcons officially announced the signing of kyousuke on June 23rd. He replaced Emil “Magisk” Reif on the team, who was moved to the inactive roster. The club`s founder admitted that the player`s contract was bought out for a significant amount, though it was considerably less than $2 million.

Earlier reports online suggested that Team Spirit is also planning roster changes for their main CS2 lineup. Representatives from HLTV.org stated that the club is considering Ivan “zweih” Gogin from Nemiga Gaming as a potential candidate.
