After numerous delays and setbacks, developer Level-5 has announced a definitive release date for the highly anticipated soccer RPG Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. The game is set to launch on August 21, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is the latest installment in the long-running Inazuma Eleven series. It was initially revealed as Inazuma Eleven Ares with a planned release in 2018. However, it faced delays in December 2018, with a revised launch window for late 2019, which was also missed. Subsequently, it was renamed Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes.
The game experienced further postponements after the name change, with target dates set for 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024. It was then renamed again to its current title. The August release date now appears to be firm, although it represents a slight delay from the previously announced June 2025 date.
The series is renowned for its arcade-style soccer action and spectacular, over-the-top special moves, both of which are expanded in Victory Road. The game will feature online multiplayer and a continuous online tournament system with regular events across multiple seasons.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will offer a comprehensive single-player story mode set 25 years after the first game`s events. Players will compete in soccer matches to become the top team in Japan, experiencing fully voice-acted cutscenes, exploring a vast city, and undertaking numerous side quests.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is a new announcement, but this has led to the removal of previously planned iOS and Android versions. Furthermore, the game will no longer have a physical release on any platform, despite prior announcements for console versions.
Pricing details for the Switch 2 version are yet to be announced. However, the standard edition for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch will be priced at $69.99, with a deluxe edition available for $79.99.
