Sony hasn`t given up on a movie adaptation of FromSoftware`s acclaimed game, Bloodborne. Insider Daniel Richtman has provided an update on the project`s status, indicating the company still intends to produce the film.
Initial rumors about a Bloodborne adaptation surfaced in 2023, but Sony has yet to make an official announcement since. According to Richtman`s information, Sony is currently searching for a producer to take charge of the film`s development. The list of potential candidates for this role is not yet known. Earlier speculation suggested that Bill Skarsgård, known for his role in “It,” might be considered for the lead part in the adaptation.
The original Bloodborne game was released in 2015 exclusively for PlayStation 4 and was met with strong positive reception from critics and players alike. While various rumors about a potential remaster or updated version have circulated repeatedly over the past eight years, none have materialized. However, more recently, in February 2025, FromSoftware conducted a survey to gauge fan interest in the possibility of a sequel.
