The Dota 2 coach for the PARIVISION team, Filipe Astini, has announced he will be absent from the forthcoming BLAST tournament. He is choosing to stay home to support his wife, who is currently eight months into her pregnancy. Astini shared this update on the social media platform X, where he also extended his thanks to the players and the organization for their understanding and support during this time.
Stepping in to lead the team at the event will be the legendary player and two-time champion of The International, Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka. According to Astini, Vainikka had been planned to join the squad previously in a role described as an “intellectual coach,” and this tournament will now serve as his official debut in this capacity on a significant stage.
“A lesson from Team Liquid: if you want to win a LAN, just don`t bring a coach,” Astini humorously remarked in his post, adding that he intends to continue working with the team remotely. The PARIVISION organization has expressed its gratitude to JerAx for agreeing to fill the coaching position quickly and anticipates a successful performance at BLAST under his temporary guidance.
