Jerry Compares Pro Player and Content Creator Earnings

Counter-Strike 2 professional player Andrey “Jerry” Mekhryakov has shared his views on the income differences between esports athletes and streamers. He discussed his observations during a recent Twitch broadcast.

When asked whether his earnings were higher in esports or currently from streaming with advertisements, Jerry responded: “More money on streams, of course. However, nothing can beat the income from stickers in esports – those sums are certainly large – but it`s simply easier to make money from streams. In esports, you need to be realistic; you constantly have to compete. If you want to be the best, you must dedicate ten hours to it tirelessly every single day. And I`m not really interested in doing that anymore. I understand I like it, but I`m a married man. If I were to spend twelve hours a day on CS now, I`d need to be at a certain level for that commitment to pay off comparably, which is very difficult, especially starting from scratch.”

Jerry began competing in CS tournaments in 2015. Throughout his career, he participated in three Majors and achieved high placements in several Tier-A and Tier-B competitions. According to estimates by Liquipedia, Mekhryakov earned approximately $242,000 in prize money during his career. As of the time of this publication, he is inactive in competitive play and focuses on streaming, which includes covering various championships.
