Dmitry `Korb3n` Belov, the manager for the Team Spirit Dota 2 team, has offered his thoughts on the recent statements made by former professional player Artur `Arteezy` Babaev concerning the current state of the competitive scene. Korb3n shared his viewpoint during a live stream.
The level of Dota hasn`t dropped. It`s simply about people who couldn`t adapt to modern competition and the realities where you have to consistently put in effort. The era where you could just `chill` in some relaxed state is over: playing a subpar Invoker, switching roles from mid to carry mid-game, and still winning. That`s because competition isn`t just four teams globally anymore. That time is over.
Furthermore, this guy is shamelessly streaming casino games, despite being a millionaire. Then he talks about gambling and the decline of Dota. Currently, the game level is the highest it has ever been. Yes, there are many tournaments. That has become genuinely tiring.
Earlier, Arteezy had stated that the professional scene in Dota 2 was of a higher standard approximately ten years ago. He highlighted that in the present day, players are compelled to participate in numerous tournaments using “poor equipment, uncomfortable chairs, and without an audience presence until the final stages.”
