Former Team Secret Dota 2 support Kyzko spoke about his time competing under the leadership of Clement `Puppey` Ivanov.
Puppey reminds me of a military commander, in a good way. If he tells you something, he expects you to understand it immediately. If you don`t, that`s your problem. This is both a positive and a negative aspect. … If you can grasp what Puppey wants from you, working with him becomes very easy.
He genuinely says a lot of correct things. About 95% of what he discusses regarding Dota is accurate. However, due to your inexperience, the Dunning-Kruger effect can kick in. That`s when you draw incorrect conclusions from his words, misunderstand them, but believe you are right.
The biggest downside I observed with Puppey is that he demands immediate results. I believe this is the primary reason why recent rosters haven`t found success. Furthermore, players nowadays can be quite demanding. It seems to me that for a team to truly form and become cohesive, especially if you`re not recruiting top-tier `grandmasters`, you need to play together for around six months.
Kyzko joined Team Secret after The International and remained with the team for several months. During his tenure, the roster participated in multiple qualifiers and attended a LAN tournament in Mongolia, where they secured a 5th-6th place finish.
