Lil Highlights Tier 2 Team Earning Problems

Dota 2 professional player Ilya `Lil` Ilyuk has spoken out about the earnings of players in the professional Dota 2 scene. He noted that for teams competing at the Tier 2 level, it is extremely difficult to financially recoup their efforts.

Tier 2 Dota, using Hydra and EPL as an example:
The guys played 8 best-of-three series in about 20 days. For going 5-0 in the group and 2-1, 0-2, 0-2 in the playoffs, they finished 5th-6th in the tournament and earned 0 money. By the way, you also get 0 money from open/closed qualifiers.
It`s good that in their case there is an organization that pays something, enough to live on while you grind Dota 2 12/6.
Imagine how much better than everyone else you have to be to earn something even slightly comparable to a normal job IRL.

Earlier, Lil discussed his own career in Dota 2. He mentioned that he no longer sees the point in playing many matchmaking games daily. In the near future, Ilyuk wants to change his approach to how often and diligently he trains.
