Logvinov Praises Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Calling It Superior to Ghost of Tsushima

Anton Logvinov, a gaming journalist and blogger, shared his impressions of Assassin`s Creed Shadows. In a Telegram post, he lauded the game`s gameplay mechanics, visual presentation, and musical score.

Logvinov stated that initially, after playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Assassin`s Creed Shadows took some time to get into. However, after five hours of gameplay, he was captivated. He declared it the best Assassin`s Creed in terms of gameplay, emphasizing the feeling of being a true assassin, especially when playing as the shinobi. He highlighted the engaging stealth mechanics, where players can evade enemies in bushes and then strategically eliminate them from different angles, embodying a ninja. The combat system itself was praised as excellent, requiring skill to master, with a challenging but fair balance. Logvinov expressed hope that the game wouldn`t become too easy with character progression.

He also noted the soulful narrative, fitting the samurai theme, and was particularly impressed by the musical and stylistic choices, which he described as outstanding, even drawing parallels to Quentin Tarantino`s Django films in their stylistic madness. Logvinov summarized the game as stylish, cool, soulful, and made with love, praising its stunning visuals. While he had minor criticisms regarding the interface and some design decisions, his overall impression was overwhelmingly positive. He anticipates a compelling storyline and concludes that Assassin`s Creed Shadows is significantly better than Ghost of Tsushima in terms of overall game quality, despite acknowledging Ghost of Tsushima`s superior duel-based combat system, which serves a different purpose. Logvinov is excited to finally experience a truly authentic medieval Japan in all its glory within Assassin`s Creed Shadows.

Assassin`s Creed Shadows is set to release on March 20, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via Steam, Ubisoft Store, and Epic Games Store. The game has received high praise from critics but has also faced some negative reactions from Japanese gamers.
