Team Falcons` mid-player, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak, shared his thoughts on the match against Tundra Esports in the first round of the FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 playoffs for Dota 2. In an interview during Lukawa Nasuashvili`s stream, the esports athlete explained his choice of Earthshaker for the third map of the series.
I just told the guys, I`m SumaiL, give me Earthshaker, I don`t care what he picks, what he does. Why should I be afraid of some bzm? […] I had to sweat a bit, but overall the game was free. I don`t know, it was a pretty easy game. On the third map, I didn`t make that many moves, it was on the second and first maps that I was running around.
It`s not like I was eager to pick Earthshaker before this game, but based on what we needed in the draft, I said: `I don`t care, give me Earthshaker, I will win you the game.` As for the build and itemization… Firstly, SumaiL is a genius, he came up with this Kaya. I initially underestimated it, thought it was some nonsense. But then, after playing about ten games on Earthshaker with Aghanim`s Scepter, I realized that it`s just impossible – you simply run out of mana. Aghanim`s Scepter on Earthshaker is still overpowered in itself, but you severely slow yourself down in farming. You can buy an item for 3k gold that will give you three times more farm than Aghanim`s Scepter. [Question: `So you take Kaya more for scaling?`] Yes. More damage, more burst.
Team Falcons and Tundra Esports faced off in the first round of the upper bracket playoffs of the tournament. Potorak`s team emerged victorious with a score of 2:1.
