Miposhka Comments on BLAST Slam III Format After Group Stage

Team Spirit captain Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov shared his opinion on the format of the BLAST Slam III Dota 2 tournament. In a vlog posted on the team`s YouTube channel, he specifically highlighted his dissatisfaction with playing all group stage matches on a single day.

I think against a team like GG, we definitely could have put up a better fight. Specifically against GG, I`m sure there was a draft mistake. If we had just changed one pick, the whole game would have gone differently. So, the first games were really just about getting warmed up, shaking off the rust. I believe we could have played much better in a second game, avoiding such errors and learning from them. Here, for example, it was bo1. Against Aurora, I don`t think it mattered much. Against Falcons, it was a good game, we played decently, but we made some incredibly stupid mistakes there too. We played very poorly in fights. We made very bad decisions on how to structure our fights – that was key.

I don`t know, it`s not really that important whether it`s bo1 or not bo1. Against Aurora, Falcons, or PARIVISION, we had some preparation, more or less had ideas. I just think we lacked the overall skill to win. I don`t think bo3 or bo2 would have changed much. Perhaps what matters is that in one day you`re already in the first round of the bracket, instead of playing more matches. Everything being decided in one day feels a bit off.

Team Spirit finished last in Group A at BLAST Slam III, which placed them in the first round of the playoff bracket. Miposhka`s team subsequently defeated Team Liquid and PARIVISION. The squad is scheduled to face Team Tidebound in the quarterfinals.
