Molodoy on How Much Ping Matters in Kazakhstan

Danil `molodoy` Golubenco, the sniper for FURIA Esports` CS2 roster, recently shared his perspective on playing with high ping in Kazakhstan and the potential it offers for players aiming for the professional scene. He discussed this topic in an interview with blogger Erik `Shoke` Shokov.

When asked if the network ping in Kazakhstan has improved, Molodoy confirmed that it has. He noted that his ping is currently around 70, a significant improvement from the approximately 120 ping he experienced previously. Despite facing the higher ping, he was still able to achieve top ranks.

Addressing whether talent outweighs the importance of ping, he stated:

It seems so, yes. I think there`s a chance to break through even with high ping. A very big chance, in fact. I believe it all depends on desire, whether you want it or not.

Molodoy also highlighted the most significant difference he felt when switching between playing with high and low ping.

Describing his first experience at a bootcamp, he explained:

When I first arrived at the bootcamp in Serbia, I immediately felt the difference. People even move differently on the map; you need to kill them faster. When you have high ping, you shoot a person, and you have to wait to see if you`ve killed them or not. But here [with low ping], the person dies instantly, immediately. And you don`t have to think about whether they died or not. That`s probably the biggest issue I`ve encountered.

Molodoy joined FURIA from Amkal Esports in April. With him on the roster, the Brazilian team participated in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, securing a 5th-8th place finish. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals by fellow Brazilian team, paiN Gaming.
