The premiere date for the second season of the anime series “My Dress-Up Darling,” also known by its Japanese title “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru,” has been officially set for July 5, 2025.
“My Dress-Up Darling” is based on a popular romantic comedy manga. The narrative centers around high school student Wakana Gojo. As a child, he experienced significant emotional distress due to being ridiculed for his earnest passion for crafting traditional Japanese Hina dolls. This traumatic experience led him to adopt a solitary lifestyle, largely avoiding interaction with his peers. However, his world is dramatically altered when he encounters the highly sociable and universally popular gyaru student and enthusiastic cosplayer, Marin Kitagawa.
The original “My Dress-Up Darling” manga began serialization in 2018. It has achieved considerable popularity, holding an impressive rating of 8 out of 10 among users on the MyAnimeList database. The manga was first adapted into a widely acclaimed anime series in 2022, and more recently, a live-action drama adaptation premiered in 2024.
