Netflix has released the trailer for its new series, “Bet,” which is a live-action adaptation of the manga “Kakegurui.” The trailer is now available on YouTube.
“Kakegurui” is set in an elite private academy where the student hierarchy is determined by gambling prowess. The story follows Yumeko, a new student whose arrival disrupts the established order.
The Netflix adaptation stars 20-year-old Canadian actress Miku Martineau in the lead role. The series is scheduled to premiere on May 15th and will consist of ten 30-minute episodes.
The “Kakegurui” manga was first published in 2014. It has previously been adapted into a Japanese live-action drama series and a feature film, as well as a two-season anime by Studio MAPPA. The anime series holds a rating of 7.1 out of 10 on IMDb and 7 out of 10 on KinoPoisk.
