Warner Bros. Pictures has presented a new trailer-featurette for the upcoming horror film “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” The video was published on YouTube, showcasing a first look at the movie. The premiere is currently scheduled for May 16, 2025.
Although plans for the sixth installment of the “Final Destination” franchise had been discussed for several years, Warner Bros. did not officially announce the project for a significant period. John Watts, known for directing the recent Spider-Man trilogy, serves as a producer for the film. The screenplay is penned by Guy Busick, credited for works like “Scream,” “Ready or Not,” and “Castle Rock,” alongside Lori Evans Taylor, who worked on “Wish Upon.” Directing duties are handled by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, known for their work on “Freaks” and “Kim Possible.”
The original “Final Destination” film series consists of five movies released between 2000 and 2011. The core premise of the franchise centers around a group of characters who survive a mass-casualty event they were meant to die in, only to be subsequently hunted down by Death itself in a series of bizarre and fatal accidents. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” introduces a slight variation to this concept: this time, it was the main protagonist`s grandmother who initially cheated death, and now her entire bloodline is marked and targeted by Death, facing a seemingly unavoidable chain of unfortunate incidents.
