Netflix has released a new featurette trailer for the second season of its hit series, `Wednesday`. The video provides a first look at what`s to come. The season will be split into two parts: the first batch of episodes arrives on August 6th, followed by the concluding episodes on September 3rd.
Jenna Ortega, who stars as the titular character, revealed that the second season draws heavily from horror films, specifically citing the 1964 movie `The Masque of the Red Death` as an inspiration. Fans can expect new antagonists and the introduction of new supernatural powers, contributing to a darker overall tone for the season. However, Ortega clarified that despite the darker themes, the show isn`t intended to be overtly terrifying, humorously adding, “Six-year-olds are watching us.”
The first season of `Wednesday` premiered on November 23, 2022. Directed by talents including Tim Burton, James Marshall, and Gandja Monteiro, the debut season was well-received, earning an 8.5 out of 10 rating on IMDb and 8.3 out of 10 on Kinopoisk.
