Nightfall’s Motivation to Play Dota

Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, a member of the Aurora Gaming Dota 2 roster, recently spoke about his motivations for continuing to compete at the professional level. The esports athlete emphasized his deep affection for Valve`s popular MOBA title. Nightfall shared his thoughts during the official English broadcast of BLAST Slam III.

Honestly, my motivation is simply that I love Dota. It`s my form of entertainment. I enjoy playing public matches. There aren`t many things in the world I love besides Dota. But, let`s say, if I didn`t play for a month, I would go crazy. I remember not launching Dota for more than a week in the past five years.

So firstly, it`s just my entertainment. Secondly, I love to compete. I have a competitive nature, I hate losing, and I really love winning, including in tournaments.

Grigorenko`s team is set to compete next in the DreamLeague Season 26 tournament, scheduled to take place from May 19 to June 1. Sixteen teams will battle it out for a total prize pool of one million dollars.
