Team Falcons player Nikola “NiKo” Kovač spoke about his objectives upon joining his new team. In an interview conducted during the IEM Melbourne 2025 broadcast, he also shared his thoughts on the team`s chances of winning the tournament. The discussion took place just before Falcons` semi-final match against MOUZ.
NiKo stated: “I came to Falcons from a very strong team, G2. My goal was to come here and make Falcons a team that competes for trophies at every tournament. That`s why I`m here, and that`s what I want to be doing. It`s great that we are already progressing towards this goal: the team became champions of PGL Bucharest 2025, and now we`re already in the semi-finals, so the last 2-3 weeks have been positive. Yes, we aim to win trophies, but we also need to prepare for the Major – that remains our primary target.”
“It will be challenging for us to compete with MOUZ and Vitality in this tournament,” he added. “These teams are arguably showing the best performance among all competing teams. They possess everything necessary, including a deep map pool. We, on the other hand, haven`t truly had sufficient time to practice maps with Ilya [m0NESY]. In each match, we have to limit our map selection to the maps we`ve already managed to play on to increase our chances of winning. These aren`t ideal circumstances, but I am satisfied with our play throughout this tournament. In my view, it was crucial to see that our individual skill could propel us further in the event. Given the current state of CS2, this is genuinely important.”
