Battlestate Games has released additional details regarding the hardcore wipe scheduled for Escape from Tarkov in July 2025.
During the hardcore wipe event, access to certain game locations will be restricted. Players will be required to transition into these areas directly from another raid. Furthermore, the functionality of secure containers, which normally prevent item loss upon death, will be limited: they will no longer be able to store ammunition, money, or specific medical supplies. Trading within the game will also become more challenging, with a reduced selection of weapons, ammunition, medicine, and armor available, coupled with increased purchase costs and decreased selling prices for items.
These new conditions will be implemented alongside previously announced changes for the hardcore wipe. These earlier details include the disabling of the Flea Market, a reduction in the overall loot spawn rate across locations (affecting even valuable items), and lowered resource requirements for Hideout construction (though items must still possess the “Found in Raid” status).
Patch 0.16.8 is slated to be the second-to-last major update before Escape from Tarkov`s full release, also planned for 2025. Beyond the increased difficulty measures, the update will introduce new customization options for PMC characters, additional prestige levels, and various bug fixes.
