A player from Aurora Gaming`s Dota 2 team shared his thoughts after their victory over BetBoom Team in the PGL Wallachia Season 4 playoffs. His interview was featured on the tournament`s official English broadcast.
It feels great because we had previously lost to BetBoom Team twice – once in the last online tournament and again here [in the group stage]. We felt we were playing better, noticing they made more errors, but we still lost in the group stage. We thought, `Okay, this is a lesson for our drafts and macro play.` And now we managed to get our revenge, which feels really good.
When asked if he prepared in any special way for the match, Panto humorously replied, “Yes. I was growing a mustache for a week, but yesterday I decided, `Okay, I need to sacrifice it to the god of Dota.` I did it on camera, and today we won 2-0. It`s sad that I can`t repeat it tomorrow – I can`t do it twice [smiles]. But I still believe it will be a good game. I hope we win.”
Aurora Gaming and BetBoom Team faced off in the first round of the upper bracket. Aurora proved stronger in the series and will advance to face PARIVISION in the next round. BetBoom Team will continue competing in the lower bracket.
PGL Wallachia Season 4 is being held from April 19 to 27 as a LAN event in Romania. Teams are competing for a prize pool of one million dollars.
