Payk Team Faces Disqualification from PGL Wallachia S4 Due to sQreen’s Bet

Team Edge, formerly known as Payk, is facing potential disqualification from the PGL Wallachia Season 4 tournament. This situation arose because Khaled sQreen El-Khabbash, who serves as the head of the Dota 2 club, reportedly placed a bet on a match within the tournament.

According to sources, PGL rules explicitly prohibit any team affiliate, including managers, CEOs, and coaches, from gambling on tournament matches in which their team is participating. The alleged bet by sQreen, in his capacity as head of the Dota 2 division for Edge, constitutes a violation of these regulations.

A precedent for this situation exists with streamer Timur TpaBoMaH Khafizov. He faced consequences after publicly disclosing a bet against his own team, Rabotyagi, in the European Pro League Season 25. Following their loss, organizers disqualified TpaBoMaH`s team and subsequently introduced a rule named after him to prevent similar incidents.

PGL Wallachia Season 4 is being held in Bucharest, Romania, from April 19th to 27th. Sixteen teams are competing for a substantial prize pool of $1 million.
