The latest trailer specifically showcases the combat gameplay of Persona 5: The Phantom X. The gameplay appears notably similar to the original Persona 5, presenting a JRPG where a team of four Phantom Thieves explores challenging areas like Mementos and Palaces while engaging in turn-based battles against Shadows. Earlier, the developers had shared a trailer that focused more on the game`s social simulation aspects.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is confirmed to be a free-to-play spin-off title set within the Persona 5 universe. Development is being handled by Perfect World. The game was initially announced in 2023, and an open beta test began in 2024, although it is currently limited to players in China. The full official launch is scheduled for June 26, 2025, and the game is planned for release on both Steam and mobile platforms.
