Season 2 has officially launched for PGA Tour 2K25, introducing significant enhancements that developers HB Studios and publisher 2K Games hope will resonate with virtual golf enthusiasts.
The centerpiece of this new season is the debut of the Challenges mode. This innovative mode combines intricate golf scenarios with subtle RPG-like elements. Players navigate a map-based structure, choosing their path to tackle various challenges and earn valuable rewards. While retaining the core authenticity of golf gameplay, some missions feature a more arcade-inspired feel to provide diverse experiences.
In these scenarios, players must meet specific objectives under unique conditions. These conditions are often influenced by modifiers that can either assist or impede their task. For instance, a challenge might require players to guide their golf shots precisely through a series of floating rings.
A notable aspect of the Challenges mode is the inclusion of scenarios inspired by historical golf moments, tasking players with recreating some of the most iconic shots from the sport`s legacy. HB Studios has confirmed plans to continuously expand and refresh this mode in every subsequent season. Furthermore, a brand-new course designed specifically for this mode, developed in collaboration with Charles Schwab, is slated for release in the near future.
Beyond the new Challenges mode, Season 2 also adds the globally renowned Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. The update brings a fresh collection of unlockable items, including character upgrades, gameplay enhancements, and cosmetic gear. Among these additions is a new shop type called the Long Flop. This shot offers slightly more power compared to the standard Flop Shot while maintaining its characteristic high trajectory, significant spin, and minimal roll, making it an excellent option for recovering when a previous shot falls just short of the target.
